Dolores C. Dupuis, 78, of Kankakee died Monday February 29, 2016 at her home. She was born June 29, 1937 in Chicago to Rudolph and Margaret Partee Grayeda. Dolores married James Dupuis on Sept 25, 1954 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Chicago.
She was a devoted wife and loving and giving mother who cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was deeply passionate about her faith.
She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital for more than 30 years, and retired in 1995. Dolores was a loyal member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church for over 30 years and was a member of the choir. Dolores was also a member of the Sons of Italy and the Quadrille Dance Club. An avid Cubs fan, she hadn’t missed a home opener in the past 16 years. She also loved golf, bingo and bowling. She played in numerous leagues.
Dolores is survived by her husband, James, of Kankakee; two sons and one daughter in law, Jim Dupuis of Chebanse, Jerome and Julie Dupuis of Kankakee; four daughters and two sons in law, Margaret and Dave Sula or Herscher, Roxane Dupuis of Key Largo, Florida, Deanne and Ron Young of Kankakee, and Nicolette Dupuis of Baltimore, MD. 14 grandchildren: Elizabeth, Anthony, and Gregory Dupuis; Katie and David Sula; Amber, Michelle, and Breanne Dupuis; Sydney Dupuis and Michael Santagata; R.J. Young, Jessica (Todd) Heldt, Jonathon and Abbie Young; and two great-grandchildren, Carter and Kasen. She is also survived by one brother and sister in law, Richard and Lillie Grayeda of Wyoming, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Anita Davis and Iris Campbell; one brother, George Grayeda; and one granddaughter, Rebecca Young.
Visitation will be held from 4PM to 8PM on Friday, March 4, 2016 at Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home in west Kankakee. Funeral mass will be at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church on Saturday (March 4, 2016) at 10AM, Fr. Sunny Castillo officiating. Entombment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Bourbonnais. Memorials may be made to St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church.
Robert “Bob” Vaughn passed away on December 12, 2015 at the Veterans Home in Quincy. Robert was born September 7, 1938 and married NormaAzzarelli on November 11, 1986. Bob is survived by His wife Norma, one son Brian Vaughn of Kankakee and two daughters Lori Wise of Bradley and Diane Snead, of Pine Island, Minn., two step-sons Jimmie Barhan of North Carolina, Dwaine “Tom” Coffman Jr. of Kankakee, two step-daughters. Sharon Hepburn of Bradley, Debbie (Craig) Clement of St. Anne. Burial was in Mound Grove Gardens of Memory, Kankakee.
Robert “Bob” Smith passed away on December 12, 2015 in Kankakee. Robert was born July 27, 1943 and married Karen on June 6, 1964, she passed away in 2012. Bob is survived by His son Scott of Lockport and his daughter and son-in-law Denise and Jim Moore of Kankakee. Burial was in All Saints Cemetery, Bourbonnais.
Mario Cuomo, a son of Italian immigrants who became an eloquent spokesman for a generation of liberal Democrats during his three terms as New York governor, has died. He was 82. The New York state governor's office confirmed Cuomo died Thursday, the day his son Andrew started his second term as governor of the state.
Mario Cuomo served as New York state governor for three terms, from 1983 to 1994. He previously served as New York secretary of state and lieutenant governor. The elder Cuomo was hospitalized for a heart condition in November.
